AT a distance L=400m from the traffic light brakes are applied to a locomotive moving at a velocity v=54 km/hr. Determine the position of the locomotive relative moving to the traffic light 1 min after the application of the brakes if its acceleration is -0.3m/sec²?

given,

distance l=400m

u=54kmph

a=-0.3m/s2

u=15mps

v=u+at

t=v-u/a

t=15s

avrage velocity=7.5m/s

distance s = 7.5/15=375m

total distance=400m-375m=25m
