अहिंसा के पुजारी:महात्मा गांधी

"भारत माँ के अमर लाडले, राष्ट्र के गौरव गांधी थे।
दीन दुखी, हरिजन हितचिंतक, राष्ट्रनाव के मांझी थे।"

प्रस्तावना -- भारत देश के अनेक महापुरुषों की जन्मभूमि है। महात्मा गांधी हमारे देश के एक विलक्षण महापुरुष थे।उन्होंने सत्य और अहिंसा के बल पर भारत को दासता की बेड़ियों से मुक्त कराया। वे हमारे देश के राष्ट्रपिता भी हैं।

जीवन परिचय -- महात्मा गांधी का जन्म 2 अक्टूबर 1869 ई० को गुजरात के काठियावाड़ ज़िले में पोरबंदर नामक स्थान पर हुआ था। इनके पिता श्री करमचंद गांधी राजकोट के दीवान थे। इनकी माता पुतलीभाई धार्मिक विचारों वाली महिला थी। एक पूरा नाम मोहनदास करमचंद गांधी था। इनका विवाह 13 वर्ष की आयु में कस्तूरबा से हुआ था।

शिक्षा -- गांधी जी की प्रारंभिक शिक्षा गुजरात राज्य में हुई। वकालत पढ़ने के लिए वे इंग्लैंड गए और वहां से वकील बनकर भारत लौटे। कुछ समय बाद उन्होंने मुम्बई में वकालत करने प्रारम्भ कर दिया।

स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन में योगदान -- दक्षिण अफ्रीका से लौटने पर गांधी जी ने भारतीय लोगों की दुर्दशा देखकर भारत को स्वतंत्र करने का संकल्प लिया।

गांधी जी की मृत्यु -- 30 जनवरी सन 1948 ई० को जब वे प्रार्थना सभा के लिए जा रहे थे तो नाथूराम गोडसे नामक एक युवक ने गोली मारकर उनकी हत्या कर दी।

उपसंहार -- आज भी उनके विचारों को "गांधीवाद" के नाम से जाना जाता है
