What are various approaches of mis development in the organization? explain any two approaches in detail.

MIS stands for Management Information System. There are 3 different types of MIS.
1. Top-down approach
2. Bottom-up approach
3. Integrative approach.
Top-down approach – In this approach, the activities of the organization, the kind of business it offers and the constraints under which they operate are defined. The crucial strategic and tactical decisions, along with the needed decisions that are required to operate the activities are defined in this approach. The management takes the initiative to formulate all the major policies, objectives, and plans and communicates them to the supervisory management levels.
Bottom-up approach – This approach starts with the lowest-level management and proceeds progressively to the higher management levels. This is usually found in the life stream systems that are essential for everyday business activities. After the basic transactions are identified, the needed file requirements and information processing programs are developed for each life stream system which is them moved towards data integration that is stored in different files of the information system. This approach is useful for identifying various factors and to understand the difficult situations and formulate strategies to deal with them.
