The moral of the story of King Midas and the golden touch was that one should never be greedy in life because the wish of being greedy does not give fruitful returns in the future.

Explanation:

The story of King Midas has taught us that greed is not good every time. The king wished that everything that he touches turns into gold so initially, he touched rocks, twigs, etc which turned into gold.
Later, he realized that everything touched by his hand turned into gold. So was not able to eat food, drink water, touch and embrace his wife and children.
That’s when he realized that his greed had ended him up into a situation that was worrisome. Thus one should never be greedy and make wish carefully.
