⇒ The river gets divided into two in West Bengal and the Bhagirathi-Hooghly flows southwards in the Bay of Bengal.

⇒ The delta formed by the Ganga and the Brahmaputra rivers is known as the Sunderban Delta.

⇒ This delta is the world's largest and fastest growing delta. It is also the home of Royal Bengal Tiger.
